Message from Ms Borthwick

Thank you for the warm welcome from parents, staff and pupils.  I’m very impressed with pupils’ attitudes so far and staff are working hard to gather information for your child’s targets to be shared at the meeting on the 28th September, appointment times will be sent out next week.

Year 6 Residential Visit to Glan Llyn

We are hoping to take pupils in Year 6 on a three day residential visit to Glan Llyn in Bala. Some year 6 pupils have previously attended the course but as it is aimed at year 6 and is a good way of meeting new friends of the same age before High School they may like to go again.The cost of the visit will be approximately £110.00 to include board, lodgings and transport.  Please complete the slip at the bottom of this letter indicating whether your child would like to take part in the visit and return it to school as soon as possible.

School Meals

School meal prices are as follows.
Infant Meals        £1.85    -    £9.25 per week
Junior Meals        £1.90    -    £9.50 per week
Dinner money should be paid on a Monday for any meals to be taken that week.  Any meal not taken because of illness/absence from school that has already been paid for will be credited to the following week.  Please send the money cash or cheques (payable to Flintshire County Council) in an envelope marked with your child’s name and the days that they wish to have a school dinner.  The envelope is then to be posted in the ‘red post box’ outside the school office and not handed to the class teacher.  Thank you.

School Uniform

Our school uniform is available from Forrester Sports in New Street, Mold.  They keep a large selection in stock.  You can either telephone or call in to the shop to make your purchases.  01352 757577.  Book bags and money envelopes are available from school.

Junior Pupils

School starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.15pm.  Please ensure that your child is in school by 8.45am.   Junior pupils will have P.E. on Mondays and Fridays.  Please can you ensure that your child has the correct P.E. Kit, white T-Shirt and Black Shorts with them on these days.  All items to be labelled with your child’s name.

Infant Pupils

School starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.00pm for Infant children.  Please ensure that your child is in school by 8.45am.

P.E. for Reception and Year 1 children will be on a Tuesday and Thursday.  All items of school clothing including P.E. Kit must be labelled.  The P.E. Kit may be left in school in a bag on your child’s peg and taken home periodically for washing.

If any Nursery pupil is to attend Playgroup please put their name down on a daily basis on the whiteboard outside the classroom.

Snack money is 50p per week per child.  You may either pay weekly or £3.50 for half term ending 20th October or £7.00 for the term ending 16th December.  Please ensure that the money is sent in an envelope with your child’s name clearly marked.  Thank you.
